Mission Action Plan (MAP)

Mission Action Plan (MAP) is an important new outreach initiative, begun in 2020, led by the Bishop of Niagara, the Rt. Rev. Susan Bell. In her words MAP is “intended to illuminate a pathway that will allow your parish to develop its own unique mission action plan that could intentionally shape your shared ministry and growth over the next few years.”

In simpler words, each parish is called to identify a “mission”, i.e. an action or group of actions that reach out to support specific element(s) within their local community, using this action as a starting point to demonstrate Christian living in action and initiate a dialogue and/or partnership. Ultimately, the desire is to integrate new – or re-integrate lapsed persons – into the Christian community. 

At Christ Church we have completed the first phase of the MAP process. We have selected our “missional action”. It is to gather donations of clothes and personal items for a local women’s shelter. On an ongoing basis. As of now, the MAP Team is reviewing a list of potential shelters to partner with.
